Signup for Financial Assistance - Gulf of Mexico Initiative in Two Alabama Watersheds

USDA-NRCS State Conservationist Dr. William Puckett announced a sign-up for the Gulf of Mexico Initiative (GoMI).  The Initiative is designed to help farmers in Alabama, Florida, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Texas improve water quality and ensure sustainable production of food and fiber. GoMI will deliver up to $50 million nation-wide in financial and easement assistance over 3 years in 16 priority watersheds.

Sign-up Period Extended for Conservation Stewardship Program

NRCS) State Conservationist Dr. William Puckett announced that the cut-off date for the Conservation Stewardship Program (CSP) ranking period has been extended to January 27, 2012.
