This signup will be held on a continuous basis. Any eligible landuser who has a resource concern or problem on pastureland, cropland, or hayland may apply for assistance through this program.

The USDA work group has prioritized the resource concerns in Cullman County as:

  1. Grazing Lands
  2. Water Quality (Animal Waste)
  3. Erosion/Soil Quality
  4. Water Conservation
  5. Forest Health and Wildlife

The NRCS State Practices and Restrictions and Cost-Share Rates will be used for planned conservation practices to address the priority resource concerns.

All applications will be ranked using the national NRCS Ranking Tool and approvals will be given to those applications that will provide the greatest environmental benefits, i.e. those receiving the most environmental points.

In case two or more applications receive an equal number of environmental points, the applications that have received no prior cost-share assistance will be approved first. If the environmental points are still equal, the earliest chronological date that the applications was filed will be approved first. Contracts will be developed for approved applications in order of descending environmental points, until all funds are obligated. Applications first batching period for ranking and application prioritization will be January 6, 2006. Additional batching periods will be held if subsequent allocations are received.
