| Dallas County 2006 EQIP ProgramExecutive SummaryThe USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Dallas County, Alabama, announces that the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) sign-up for 2006 is open and applications are being taken on a continuous basis. If you have a resource concern or problem on pastureland, cropland, hayland, or forestland on your farm that you need assistance to solve, visit the NRCS Office and fill out an application. You can file this application in Selma at the NRCS office between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office is located at the USDA Farm Service Office Building, 105 Samuel Moseley Dr. Suite A. and our telephone number is 334-872-2611, extension 3. Applications will be taken through January 6, 2006, and be
ranked using the state approved ranking sheets. Any funds not allocated during
the first batching will be available for
subsequent batching periods as needed.
All applications will be ranked and approvals based on an environmental ranking worksheet that will insure that the most environmental benefit is received for the dollars expended. Individuals with the highest point totals generated from this worksheet will be ranked higher in consideration to receive cost share assistance than those individuals with lower points. In the event of tie between applications, the application with the lowest cost for benefits obtained will be considered for cost-share assistance. All conservation practices on the NRCS state approved list will be available for use in solving the conservation needs on Dallas County farms. Conservation practice 329-Residue Management has a limit of 200 acres per applicant per year. Cost-share rates on all other practices will be the same as listed on the State approved list. The state-wide ranking sheet for the above listed resource concerns will be used in ranking the applications. Additional
