This signup will be held on a continuous basis. Any eligible landuser who has a resource concern or problem on pastureland, cropland, or hayland may apply for assistance through this program. Applications may be made at the NRCS office of the Lauderdale County USDA Service Center located at 2431 Darby Dr., Suite B, Florence, Alabama, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The telephone number is 256-764-5833, extension 3, and the fax number is 256-764-7224. Approval will be given to those applications with the highest ranking points. Contracts will be developed for approved applications in the order of descending ranking points, until all funds are obligated. Conservation tillage (practice code 329) is limited to 100 acres per tax ID number/entity. Pasture and Hayland Planting (practice code 512) requires a current soil test (within the past 2 years) to be turned in to the office by the batching period date of the application to be considered for this practice. Ponds (practice code 378) will be required to have animals fenced out and a watering ramp installed for livestock water. The first batching of applications will have a cut-off date of January 6, 2006. Any applications filed later than this date will be considered in the next pool of funding (if additional funds become available). If ties between applicants exist (i.e. two or more applicants have the same number of ranking points), selection will be made by random drawing. The NRCS state approved Practice, Restriction and Cost-share rate lists will be used for Lauderdale County EQIP application. Additional information is available at:
