All applications will be ranked using a local and a Alabama NRCS state approved EQIP Ranking Tool and approvals will be given to those applications that will provide the greatest environmental benefits, i.e. those receiving the most environmental points. Contracts will be developed for approved applications in order of descending environmental points until all funds are obligated. All completed applications will be batched, ranked, and prioritized. The first batching period for ranking and prioritizing applications will be November 17, 2006. Subsequent batching dates may be announced as needed to rank and prioritize any new or unfunded applications.

Cost-share rates of practices will be set at no more than 50 percent.  Eligible practices and restrictions are the same as those on the NRCS statewide list, with the following additional local restrictions:

  • Cropland conversion to grass or trees is limited to 150 acres per applicant
  • Maximum of 2 water sources (well/dug pond) per applicant
