The first batching period for ranking and prioritizing applications will be November 17, 2006. All applications will be ranked using state and local environmental benefits worksheets and approvals will be given to those applications that will provide the greatest environmental benefits, i.e., those receiving the most environmental points. If two applications receive the same number of environmental points resulting in a tie, preference will be given to the application that was signed first.

If all monies are not obligated during the first batching period, additional batching periods will be held as needed until all funds are exhausted. The applications will be prioritized based on local resource concerns as determined by the local work group.

The local resource concerns have been prioritized by the workgroup as followed:

  1. Grazing Lands

  2. Soil Quality/Erosion

  3. Forest Health and Wildlife

  4. Water Quality

Practices and cost-share percentages will be the same as the Alabama NRCS state practices and percentages.
