| Coosa County 2007 EQIP ProgramExecutive SummaryThe USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Coosa County, Alabama, will hold a signup for the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) for the 2007 Fiscal Year. This signup will be held on a continuous basis. Any eligible land user who has a resource concern or problem on pastureland, crop land, hay land, forestland and/or wildlife land may apply for assistance through this program. Applications may be made at the NRCS office of the Tallapoosa/Coosa County USDA Service Center located at 1995 Cherokee Road, Alexander City, Alabama 35010, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The telephone number is 256-329-3084, extension 3. All applications will be ranked using an environmental benefits worksheet, and approvals will be given to those applications that will provide the greatest environmental benefits, i.e. those receiving the most environmental points. Contracts will be developed for approved applications in order of descending environmental points, until all funds are obligated. Applications will be batched and ranked during the year. The first batching period for ranking and prioritizing applications will be November 17, 2006. Any applications filed later than this date will be consider in the next pool of funding (if funds are available or additional funds become available).
