| Crenshaw County 2007 EQIP ProgramExecutive SummaryThe USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Crenshaw County, Alabama, is accepting applications for the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) for the 2007 fiscal year. This signup is held on a continuous basis. Any eligible land user who has a resource concern or problem related to cropland, pastureland, hayland , or forestland may apply for assistance through this program. Applications may be made at the NRCS office in the Crenshaw County USDA Service Center located at 1682 South Forest Avenue on Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The telephone number is 334-335-3613, extension 3. The fax number is 334-335-2108. The USDA Work Group in Crenshaw County has identified the following resource concerns are in order of priority:
All applications will be ranked using the Alabama NRCS Statewide & Local Ranking Tool. Approvals will be given to those applications that will provide the greatest environmental benefits, i.e. those receiving the most environmental points. Contracts will be developed for approved applications in order of descending environmental points until all funds are obligated. Applications will be batched and ranked. The first batching period for ranking and prioritizing applications will be November 17, 2006. Any applications filed later than that date will be considered at the next batching date, dependent upon availability of funds. Eligible county practices are listed below. Cost-share rates and restrictions will be the same as those on the Alabama NRCS state-wide list, with the following additional local restrictions:
