| Greene County 2008 EQIP ProgramExecutive SummaryThe USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Greene County, Alabama, will hold a signup for the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) for the 2008 Fiscal year on a continuous basis. If you have a resource concern and/or problem on grazing land/grassland, cropland, hay land and/or wildlife land and forestland on your farm that you need assistance to solve, we maybe able to provide both financial and technical assistance to you. Applicants will complete the NRCS-CPA-1200 application form and appendix and submit in person, by phone, e-mail, fax, or letter to the NRCS Office, Soil and Water Conservation District office, or the Farm Service Agency (FSA) office located at USDA Service Center between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. A signature and date are required on the NRCS-CPA-1200 form and appendix. The signature maybe obtained either at the time the application is submitted or subsequently by NRCS or by facsimile. The first batching period for ranking and prioritizing applications will be October 26, 2007, and additional batching periods will be scheduled as needed until all EQIP funds are obligated. All applications will be ranked and approved based on a state-wide environmental ranking worksheet that will insure that the most environmental benefit is received for the dollars expended. Individuals with the highest point totals generated from this worksheet will be ranked higher in consideration to receive cost share assistance than those applications with lower points. In the case of a tie, the application with the lowest cost for the benefits obtained will be considered for cost-share assistance. The eligible practices and cost-share percentages are those listed on the Alabama NRCS state approved EQIP Practice and Payment Schedule.
