Minutes from Alabama Civil Rights Advisory Committee Meeting

Clanton, Alabama, July 20, 2005

  

 

The Civil Rights Advisory Committee held a meeting on July 20, 2005, at 10:00 a.m. in the Alabama Power Conference Center, Clanton Room.

 

Members present:  Terry Williamson, Chair; Joyce Nicholas, Vice-Chair; Fay Garner, DSEPM; Johnny Trayvick, BSEPM; Linda McGraw, FWSEPM; Carolyn King, HSEPM; Clark Painter, APASEPM; David Elliott, AI/ANPM; Jason Gardner, member; Thomas McDaniel, member; Tim Williams, member; Andrew Williams, Outreach Advisor; Alice Love, National Civil Rights Committee Member; and Gary Kobylski, State Conservationist.

 

Member not present:  Travis Burns, member and Sarah Walker, member.

  

Old Business

 

Engineers Pay Scale.  Reviewed letter from National Hqts.  New STC will explore further.

 

New Business

 

  • Names submitted to replace the members that are rolling off the committee. 

    • Three team members will be rolling off, Tim Williams, North Team; Sarah Walker, State Office; and Tanga Skinner, East Team.  Also Special Emphasis Program Managers for Disabilities and Asian Pacific Islander.

  • Updates to the Plan of Work with accomplishments noted with additions requested by Friday.

  • Request to all that would like to request training or attend a conference this coming year report before July 26.  These items are to be listed in the budget.

  • Report from Committee Chair about  the American Indian Program Delivery Initiative Meeting he attended May 8-11.  Committee members requested CDs of photos. Update on the action taken on the Awards Committee. 

  •  Information available to all employees on my.NRCS about Civil Rights.

Next meeting is scheduled for October 19, 2005, in Atmore at the Poarch Creek Indian Reservation.
