Equal Employment Opportunity

  • Participate in the development and implementation of the FEORP and accomplishment report for the Affirmative Employment Plan.

Develop a Civil Rights/Special Emphasis Program Action Plan

  • Develop a American Indian Alaska Native Special Emphasis Program Plan of Work for FY-2007.
  • Maintain a relationship with other organizations and interest groups in order to obtain information on employment trends and equal opportunity problems.
  • Advise the Deputy Equal Employment Opportunity Officer (DEEOO) through "chain of command", on matters affecting the employment and advancement of American Indians and Alaska Natives.
  • Evaluate and report the impact of recruitment, selection, placement, promotion, training, counseling, and career development policies and practices to American Indian and Alaska Native employees.
  • Serve as a local representative at State, Regional, and National meetings concerned with AIANSEP issues.
  • Serve as a member of the NRCS AISES recruiting cadre and participate in the National AISES (American Indian Science and Engineering Society) conference in Detroit, Michigan, November 2006.
  • Assist in the development and distribution of the 2006 American Indian Heritage Month poster.
  • Provide information in observance of American Indian Heritage Awareness Month to all Employees.
  • Update Alabama NRCS American Indian Alaska Native Website with latest information.
  • Submit articles on the American Indian Alaska Native Special Emphasis Program for the State Conservationist’s Newsletter.
  • Develop an operating budget for the American Indian Alaska Native Special Emphasis Program to carry out items in the plan of work.
  • Develop and distribute the 2007 civil rights poster to all offices.
