Alabama Bulletin No. AL190-7-4 Subject: ECS – Alabama Natural Resources Coordinating Council Survey Purpose: To notify employees of action needed to determine the current status of the County Natural Resources Coordinating Council. Expiration Date: September 30, 2007 Action Required By: FIELD OFFICE DEADLINE: June 26, 2007 The Alabama Natural Resources Coordinating Council (ANRCC) recently asked the County Outreach Committee to survey the local councils and determine the current status and degree of vitality existing in each county. The forestry planning committee movement began years ago and has been an effective means of reaching landowners and improving the management of Alabama’s forest resources for all its citizens. However, over the years some of these committees have become inactive, some have changed names, others have merged with a landowner group like the Alabama TREASURE Forest Association. The ANRCC’s main interest is developing an up-to-date contact list for each county to improve communications between the state council and the local council. Regardless of the groups name, the ANRCC recognizes them if they have a multi-agency participation and adhere to our mission of “Promoting Stewardship of Alabama’s Forest Resource.” We are striving to improve communications, coordinate services and programs, and motivate landowners. We need your help to get started by completing the enclosed questionnaire. Please e-mail the completed questionnaire to your Assistant State Conservationist for Field Operations by June 26, 2007. Assistant State Conservationist’s for Field Operations should return the completed forms by June 29, 2007, via e-mail to: Tim.Albritton@al.usda.gov By mail: Tim Albritton or by Fax: 334-887-4551 /s/ GARY KOBYLSKI The survey is provided in
