Anyone interested in applying for one of the positions should complete the attached form and submit it according to the instructions noted below.

Candidates must be representative of the vacancy they are applying for and be a full-time Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) employee. Meetings are held two to three times a year at various locations throughout the country. Committee members’ travel costs will be covered by NCRC.

The NCRC mission is to provide counsel and recommendations to the Chief on Civil Rights issues and concerns of employees and clients. The Committee’s vision is to be recognized as a guiding force, which strives for excellence in Civil Rights for all clients and employees of the Natural Recourses Conservation Service. Committee members should be self-starters who are willing to volunteer to complete actions identified in the NCRC business plan. The business plan and bylaws may be found on NRCS’ Intranet Web site: https://my.nrcs.usda.gov/.  The appropriate supervisor must concur in your nomination and agree to support the employee by granting up to 20 percent of their time for NCRC travel and work activities.

There are six vacancies scheduled this year. However, in an attempt to balance membership turnover to four positions per year, one or two of the existing members may be carried over, or two new memberships may be offered for 1 or 2-year terms.

If you are interested in applying for one of these vacancies, complete the enclosed nomination form, have your supervisor sign, and forward it to  State Conservationist Gary Kobylski by June 15, 2007.

Questions may be directed to Ray Donaldson at (334) 887-4532.
