Subject:  FNM – Authorization to attend the Annual Alabama Chapter Soil and Water Conservation Society (SWCS) Meeting.

Purpose:  To notify Alabama Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) employees of attendance and approval requirements.

Expiration Date:  September 30, 2007.

Action Required By:  May 11, 2007

The Alabama Soil and Water Conservation Society (SWCS) will hold its annual meeting June 20-22, 2007, in Mobile, Alabama, at the Best Western Asbury Hotel & Suites.

NRCS employees who are members of the Alabama Chapter that can earn professional development Credits (PDC) or points as a Certified Crop Advisor, Professional Engineer, Certified Erosion and Sediment Control Specialist, or Executive Officers of SWCS, are authorized to attend on official government time and reimbursed for registration. Non-members and members who are not earning PDC’s or points may attend with their supervisor’s approval for leave on their own time and expense.

NRCS employees authorized to attend on government time can be reimbursed for the $90 “early bird” registration fee. Those who plan to attend should send their names to Ray Donaldson by May 11, 2007.

Registration information and the agenda for the meeting will be sent to all employees soon. Registration will be paid by the authorized employees and reimbursed by NRCS. Send your registration form with a check in the amount of $90.00 to the attention of Zona Beaty at USDA-NRCS, P.O. Box 311, Auburn, Alabama 36830.
