Subject:  LTP - Collection of interest on monies being recovered for conservation practices.

Purpose:  To inform employees on procedures to follow for the collection of interest.

Expiration Date:  September 31, 2007.

The cost recovery process for EQIP, CSP, and WHIP can involve the collection of interest for funds paid out for conservation practices. Interest is calculated solely on the repayment of cost-shared funds previously paid to the participant. Because it would not be efficient or cost effective, NRCS is waiving the collection of interest on funds paid out for conservation practices.
