Subject:  MGT – Announce of formation of Efficiency Task Force

Purpose:  To notify employees of formation of Efficiency Task Force

Expiration Date:  September 30, 2007.

I am announcing the formation of an Efficiency Task Force to examine and make recommendations for the delivery of technical assistance in Alabama.

Declining budgets for the past several years have made it necessary for the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) to look for additional efficiencies in the delivery of technical assistance throughout Alabama. This task force has been charged with examining all modes of technical assistance across the state.

All programs and all offices will be examined to determine the best way for NRCS in Alabama to meet the needs of our customers and continue to strengthen our partnerships with Conservation Districts, the State Soil and Water Conservation Committee and Resource Conservation and Development Councils across the state.

The following persons have been selected to serve on the Task Force:

• Perry Oakes
• Shannon Weaver
• Winford Andrews
• John Curtis
• Terry Williamson
• Kathy Gotcher
• Micky Smith
• Ray Donaldson

This Task Force will begin their work immediately and plan to present a report at the AACD meeting in November.
