Alabama Bulletin No. AL340-7-12

Date:
  May 15, 2007

Subject:  SPA – Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plan (CNMP) Revisions.

Purpose:  To provide instructions for reporting progress for CNMP revisions.

Expiration:  May 14, 2008

A Comprehensive Nutrient Management Plan Revision is reportable in the Performance Results System (PRS) as a new 100 code (CNMP Written) as long as the revision occurs in the current fiscal year or later. A new 100 practice code can be reported if the revision is significant. We consider a significant change as being the 1) addition or deletion of land units (nutrient management), 2) change in the number or size of birds, which would affect the storage and treatment requirements, 3) change in the type of mortality management, and other similar changes.

Currently Toolkits/PRS will not allow the user to change or delete a practice code 100 if it has been reported in a prior fiscal year. The user must add a new code 100, show a current date along with any new land units needed, and other practice codes and dates planned on or after the date of the new code 100. The Plan Approval Date must be changed to the current date. Step-by-step instructions are enclosed. Questions concerning CNMP revisions should be directed to Bill Hughes, State Resource Conservationist. PRS questions should be directed to Julie Yates, State PRS Coordinator.
