Date:  August 13, 2007

Subject:  SPA – Business and Performance Planning for FY-2008

Purpose:   To transmit requirements for field office business plans for FY-2008.

Expiration Date: July 31, 2008.

Action Required by:  August 30, 2007

General Manual 340, Amendment 9, dated March 2006, requires that district conservationists develop business plans to guide field office operations. Enclosed is a template for use at the local level. Please add items specific to your particular field office. For instance, action items could address EQIP Ranking, Watershed Assessment, Limited Resource Farmer Initiative, etc. Business plans should cover a one-year period and be reviewed and updated quarterly (December, March, June, and September).

Draft business plans for FY-2008 should be completed by August 30, 2007. Final plans will be completed 30 days following receipt of the final allowance. Assistant State Conservationists (Field Operations) should ensure each office develops a plan.
