Subject:  SPA – Performance Measure Calculations.

Purpose: To transmit selected practice based performance measures and a revision to the FY-2007 Performance Measure Progress Calculations.

Expiration Date:  December 31, 2007.

A matrix of FY-07 Performance Measures and Selected Conservation Practices in Excel is available on the ftp site. A practice may be credited to more than one performance measure where the practice provides benefit to multiple resource concerns. The six performance measures linked to specific practices are:

  • 1.10 Cropland with conservation applied to improve soil quality, acres
  • 2.10 Land with conservation applied to improve water quality, acres
  • 2.20 Land with conservation applied to improve irrigation efficiency, acres
  • 3.10 Grazing and forest land with conservation applied to protect and improve the resource base, acres
  • 3.20 Non-federal lands with conservation applied to improve fish and wildlife habitat quality, acres
  • 3.30 Wetlands created, restored or enhanced, acres

The matrix is also available on my.NRCS under the “Accountability” tab.

The computation methodology for Conservation Plans Written has been modified on the PRS FY2007 Performance Measure Progress Calculations.xls (updated 1-12-2007).
