Subject:  EOP - Membership on the Alabama NRCS 2009 Civil Rights Advisory Committee (CRAC)

Purpose:   To notify employees of vacancies on the Alabama CRAC.

Expiration Date: September 30, 2009.

Action Required by:  July 1, 2008

The following positions on the State’s Civil Rights Advisory Committee (CRAC) will become vacant as of September 30, 2008:

  • Disability Special Emphasis Program Manager
  • Asia/Pacific Island Special Emphasis Program Manager

Anyone interested in applying for one of the positions should complete the attached form and submit it according to the instructions noted below.

Candidates must be a full-time Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) employee. Meetings are held quarterly at various locations throughout the state.

The CRAC mission is to provide counsel and recommendations to the State Conservationist on issues and concerns of employees and clients. The Committee’s vision is to be recognized as a guiding force, which strives for excellence in Civil Rights for all clients and employees of the Natural Recourses Conservation Service. Special Emphasis Program Managers should be self-starters who are willing to volunteer to complete actions identified in the CRAC Business Plan. The appropriate supervisor must concur in your nomination and agree to support the employee by granting up to 20 percent of their time for CRAC travel and work activities.

If you are interested in applying for one of these vacancies, complete the enclosed Nomination Form, have your supervisor sign, and forward it to State Conservationist Gary Kobylski by July 1, 2008.
