Subject:  FNM - AACD Conservation Practices and Research Committee Summer Meeting

Purpose:   To Authorize NRCS Personnel to Attend the AACD Conservation Practices and Research Committee Summer Meeting

Expiration Date: September 30, 2008

The AACD Conservation Practices and Research Committee will hold its summer meeting in Auburn on June 24-25, 2008. The meeting will be at the Agricultural Research Service Tillage Lab on the Auburn University Campus (map attached) beginning at 1:00 p.m. on June 24 and will end on June 25 at 11:30 a.m.

June 24 will include presentations on soil quality, bio-energy, grazing systems, and carbon credit trading in Alabama. The June 25 activities include a tour of the Tillage Lab and the Frank Randle Farm, which is approved for a Conservation Innovation Grant to demonstrate no-till vegetable production.

A pre-registration form is attached for your use. Pay your registration fee ($15) and file this expense on your travel voucher. If you are not on travel, you can file a SF-1164 Form (Reimbursement for Expenses on Official Business). Registration will begin at 12:30 p.m. for those that do not pre-register.  The on-site registration fee will be $20.

NRCS employees are authorized to attend this meeting provided they have a District Supervisor who is attending and you have prior approval from your direct supervisor.
