NRCS is Accepting WHIP Applications

Auburn, Ala. – January 11, 2008 - FOR IMMEDIATE
RELEASE
The USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) is now taking
applications for forestry and wildlife habitat improvement practices under the
Wildlife Habitat Incentives Program (WHIP). These programs provide cost-share
assistance for installation of wildlife habitat enhancement practices on private
lands. Practices include things such as tree planting, prescribed burning,
native grass planting, and creating wildlife openings.
Applications received close-of-business on January 18, 2008, will be
considered for funding.
