“Love Your Heart…Make a Promise” - National Wear Red Day

By Linda McGraw, Federal Women’s Program Manager, Columbiana, AL

Tuscaloosa Project and Tombigbee RC&D office personnel wear red.Wear Red for Heart Disease is a nationwide movement that celebrates the energy, passion, and power for women (and men) to band together and wipe out heart disease.

This year’s theme is, “Love your heart…make a promise.” Thanks to the participation of millions of people across the country, the color red and the red dress have become linked with the ability all women have to improve their heart health and live stronger, longer lives.

Last year several NRCS offices participated in National Wear Red Day for Women. I wanted to send out the same message this year. I emailed all employees to encourage them to show some heart for heart disease prevention by wearing red clothing or accessories on Friday, February 2nd. Here are some photos of those who participated.

Thanks to all the NRCS employees who participated in observing National Wear Red Day.
