Conecuh County 2004 EQIP Program
Executive Summary
The local EQIP program signup for 2004 is open and signup is continuous. If
you have a resource concern or problem on pastureland, cropland, or hayland on
your farm that you need assistance in solving, you should come by the Natural
Resources Conservation Service office and fill out an application. Our office is
open from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. The office is located at
102 Liberty Street Room 104 in Evergreen. Our phone number is (251) 578-1520
extension 3. Applications may also be filed at the Farm Service Agency at the
above address, Room 102.
The first batching period for ranking and prioritizing applications will be
April 30, 2004. If all monies are not obligated with the first ranking, then a
second ranking will be held 30 days after the first ranking. All applications
received up until that date will be ranked and prioritized based on a state-wide
ranking worksheet. Those applications with the highest point totals from this
ranking worksheet will be funded first. The applications will be prioritized
based on local concerns.
The local concerns that have been prioritized are:
- Grazing Lands
- Erosion/Soil Quality
- Water Quality (Animal Waste)
- At-Risk Species Habitat
- Water Conservation
Please refer to the state list for practices, cost-share rates, and
restrictions.
Applications may also be taken on-line at: http://www.sc.egov.usda.gov. Additional
information is available at: http://www.nrcs.usda.gov/programs/eqip/.
