Dale County 2004 EQIP
Program
Executive Summary
The Natural Resources Conservation Service of USDA in Dale County, Alabama,
will hold a signup for the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) for
the 2004 Fiscal Year. This signup will be held on a continuous basis. Any
eligible landuser who has a resource concern or problem on pastureland,
cropland, hayland or forestland may apply for assistance through this program.
Applications may be made at the NRCS office of the Dale County USDA Service
Center located at the Dale County Government Building, 202 S. Hwy 123, Suite E,
Ozark, Alabama 36360 Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The

The USDA Work Group has identified the resource concerns in Dale County as:
- Erosion/Soil Quality
- Grazing Land
- Water Quality
- Water Conservation
- At Risk Species
All applications taken by April 16, 2004, will be ranked and funded using the
Statewide Ranking Tool and approvals will be given to those applications that
will provide the greatest environmental benefits, i.e. those receiving the most
environmental points. Contracts will be developed for approved applications in
order of descending environmental points until all funds are obligated.
Applications received after April 16th, will be deferred until the next
allocation of funds.
Eligible Practices and cost-share rates are the same as the NRCS state-wide
adopted practices. In addition to the restrictions listed on the Statewide list,
Residue Management (Conservation Tillage) will be limited to a maximum 100 acres
per applicant. Conservation practices used to address the priority concerns will
come from the Statewide practice list.
