| Lawrence County 2008 EQIP ProgramExecutive SummaryThe USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) in Lawrence County, Alabama, will hold a signup for the Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) for the 2008 Fiscal Year. This signup will be held on a continuous basis. Any eligible land user who has a resource concern or problem on pastureland, cropland, animal waste, or hay land may apply for assistance through this program. Applications may be made at the NRCS or FSA office of the Lawrence County USDA Service Center located at 13075 AL Hwy 157, Suite 4, and Moulton, Alabama 35650, Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. The telephone number is 256-974-1176, extension 3, and the fax number is 256-974-4404. All applications will be ranked using an environmental benefits worksheet and approvals will be given to the applicants that will provide the greatest environmental benefits, i.e. those receiving the most environmental points. Contracts will be developed for approved applications in order of descending environmental points, until all funds are obligated. Applications will be batched and ranked. The first batching date of applications will have a cut-off date of October 26, 2007. Any applications filed later than this date will be considered in the next pool of funding (if additional funds become available) with subsequent batching dates set as needed. Eligible Practices, Restrictions, and Payment schedule approved by the Alabama NRCS state approved EQIP Practice and Payment Schedule will be used to obligate contract funds. In the event of applicants having the same points the following tiebreaker will be used. The applications will be alphabetized by last name. Then applicants will be selected in ascending order.
