All applications will be ranked using an environmental benefits worksheet and approvals will be given to those applications that will provide the greatest environmental benefits, i.e. those receiving the most environmental points. If ranking points prove to be equal on one or more applications, the initial application date will be used as a tie breaker. Contracts will be developed for approved applications in order of descending environmental points, until all funds are obligated. The first batching period for ranking and prioritizing applications will end October 26, 2007. Any applications filed later than this date will be considered in the next pool of funding, if additional funds become available. Alabama NRCS state approved EQIP Practice and Payment Schedule will be used for eligible practices and restrictions. Planned conservation practices used to address the priority resource concerns will come from this list. Pasture planting and tree planting practices will be limited to a maximum of 40 acres per applicant. Conservation tillage will be limited to 100 acres per applicant. Limited Resource Farmers will be funded at an increased payment rate. County Ranking Tool for FY2008 County AllocationsAdditional information is available at: http://www.nrcs.usda.gov/programs/eqip/.
