Hurricane Katrina Aftermath Reports

Friday, September 16, 2005

The Gulf Shores region of Alabama has felt the impact of three hurricanes within a year’s time. Today is the one year anniversary of Hurricane Ivan, which did tremendous damage to that region. Hurricane Dennis did minimal damage to the area, and then Hurricane Katrina struck.
  • There is considerable sand along Highway 182 which runs parallel with the Gulf. Sand removal/relocation appears to be an issue for this area.
  • Damage to foliage as a result of the salt water/spray, not only along the coast, but several miles inland, is evident.

We’re sharing a few photos from the Gulf Shores region of Alabama.
