Rabbit Production, Processing, and Marketing Project

White rabbits in a pen.A rabbit cooperative has been formed called the Tri-State Rabbit Association.  The Tombigbee RC&D Council adopted this project to help small farmers in Alabama, Tennessee, and Mississippi diversity and supplement their income.   The co-op contains about 50 members in various stages of the business. The Council formed partnerships to provide guidance with production and processing methods that yield a finished rabbit product for the open market. Several major marketing initiatives have been identified.
